Sage Oak of Denton has grown again with the addition of Dr. Alex Anastase, MD as Chief Medical Advisor. Dr. Anastase officially joined the boutique assisted living and memory care community on February 6, 2023.
Dr. Anastase is a board certified physiatrist and active member of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He serves as Medical Director for Select Rehabilitation of Denton, Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing, and Senior Care Denton.
He specializes in post acute care in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, skilled nursing facilities, and previously was a medical director for hospice care. His practice focuses on patients that need assistance with mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs) services, cognition, and swallowing. He also provides recommendations for future management with an emphasis on regaining function and independence to the best degree possible, or when that may not be attained, discussing alternative options for patients and families.
Dr. Anastase completed his undergraduate education in 2005 from Cornell University and his medical degree in 2009 from the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical School in Dallas. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency in 2013, also from UTSW, where he served a year as Chief Resident.
Dr. Anastase is excited to join the Sage Oak team as a continuation of his practice into an area of post acute care that is an important extension in quality of life for both patients and their families. Having practiced in the Denton area for over 10 years, he has recognized Sage Oak of Denton as a pinnacle option in the assisted living and memory care space. With a company motto of “Great Care, Great Food, Great Communication”, in addition to its staff to patient ratio, small residential type setting, campus potential, and friendly environment, Dr. Anastase hopes to add another component of more accessible physician oversight and communication to the residents and their families, further elevating Sage Oak of Denton.
