Sage Oak of Denton, a boutique-style assisted living and memory care community, recently held two grand opening events, showcasing their new community.
On Friday, June 3, approximately 400 health care professionals came out to tour Sage Oak of Denton to learn more about its unique care model and taste delicious chef creations in the process. Attendees got a chance to explore the community and sample the food. They experienced future Sage Oak residents’ everyday dining experience with a chef preparing meals for 16-20 people, right in front of them.
“The boutique-style and concierge approach to senior living that Sage Oak designed is fabulous! Each detail for the individual homes on the campus has been well-contemplated and planned for the comfort and safety of the residents,” Mona M. said in a Google review. “Many times families are mostly concerned about the safety and care, but the residents themselves care about the FOOD! I was able to try all the delicious food prepared by the Executive Chef for the Grand Opening. Everything was incredible! The residents will definitely be pleased!”
On Saturday, June 4 the general public also had a chance to experience the Sage Oak difference in senior care during the second grand opening event. The reviews were glowing.
“The facilities at Sage Oak are incomparable. No detail has been overlooked to make the individual homes welcoming, safe, and user friendly for the residents,” observed Beth T. in a Google review.
“From the airy, light entrance foyers to the short hallways, from arms with sturdy armrests and high seats for easy rising to the nurse’s station with visibility of all the public areas, the homes are ideally suited for senior living. Perhaps my favorite detail is the open kitchen plan in each home that invites the residents to chat with the chef and make meal preparation an event each day.”
The community’s motto and focus are, “great food, great care, and great communication,’” and that motto is evident in the way they’ve designed resident homes.
With only 16 beds in each of the six houses at Sage Oak, the resident-to-staff ratio is low. This 1:5 to 1:8 caregiver-to-residents ratio provides the best opportunity for quality care, allowing staff to focus more intentionally on each resident’s needs.
Sage Oak’s design is unique in the senior living industry. The central part of each home is an open kitchen/community area where residents can see their meals prepared, enjoy dining together, and socialize. Homes include a centrally-located nurses station overlooking the living area as well as modern accessible rooms. Technology is also incorporated to enhance senior security and prevent falls.
Sage Oak’s memory care homes are designed to offer additional levels of care for seniors with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
